Ten ways to simplify your week


This is to make up for the ten unexpected things that’ll ✨shake up✨your week. But even when everything goes smoothly, there are those of us who still feel scattered, stressed and all the other fun feelings no one wants to sit with. If that’s resonating with you, we have ten tips which will change your life for the better! 

Let’s take a look at the very things that will help you feel more in control of your days and oh so much lighter on the mind.

1. Map out your week

Start by writing down an overview of everything you’d like to achieve this week. If it’s looking a bit too full on, see what you can cross out and move over to the following week.


2. Make a to-do list

Now that you know what needs to be done, make a to-do list for each day of the week. Start with your priorities (both business and personal) and try to have a good balance of bigger and smaller tasks each day. The last thing you want to do is feel burnt out! 


3. Automate what you can

Have email newsletters to send out? Bills to pay? Social media content to post? Automate anything you can to save time! There are lots of online platforms that will let you schedule these sorts of things, and there’s a high chance that includes the ones you’re already using. 


4. Break down your chores and do them bit by bit 

Instead of saving ALL your chores for your day off, chip away at them throughout the week. Vacuum one or two rooms one day, do a small load of laundry the next. Do what you must to get it done at a more comfortable pace.


5. Don’t say ‘yes’ to new propositions until you’ve checked your schedule 

It’s hard to say ‘no’ when you’re put on the spot, but can you really take on that additional task? Kindly tell your contact that you will check your schedule to see when you can fit this in for them.


6. Do one thing at a time 

Multi-tasking can be more problematic than efficient. If you’re worried about making mistakes or if doing too much at once simply gets your heart racing in all the wrong ways, it’s time to remind yourself that less is more. 


7. Schedule in time for yourself 

Seriously. Treat your self-care as a “to-do” if that’s what it takes to make it happen! 


8. Have a system for your emails

If a million emails in your Inbox are stressing you out, make more folders! Create folders such as ‘urgent’ or ‘low priority’ then move things over from your Inbox accordingly.   


9. Don’t work on your days off! 

It’s hard, right?! But your business WILL be okay if you give yourself the weekend off. You need those days to unwind and feel fresh for another week! 


10. Do some forward planning if you can! 

If you are able to, planning out your next month or so can really help you feel on top of things. Whether it’s simply filling out your calendar or creating content in advance, having some extra prep done will take a bit of the pressure off your shoulders.
